Episode 62: Waiting On The LORD - Psalm 27:5-14
What does it really mean to “wait on the LORD”?
In this episode of Refuge & Strength, Pastor b.Side wraps up the study of Psalm 27 by examining verses 5–14 and exploring the biblical meaning of patience, hope, and perseverance while waiting for God to work. Rather than treating waiting as passive inactivity, this study shows how David’s example reveals an active posture of faith—one rooted in confidence in God’s character, promises, and eternal purposes.
David faced enemies, uncertainty, and circumstances that could have caused him to lose heart. Yet his hope was not ultimately dependent on God changing his immediate circumstances. David’s confidence came from knowing who God is and trusting that God would faithfully fulfill His promises. His focus remained on the eternal goodness of dwelling in God’s presence, seeing His glory, and experiencing the fulfillment of His promises.
This episode explores what it means to wait on the LORD by looking forward to His promises, seeking His presence, trusting His Word, and continuing faithfully through seasons of difficulty. David’s words demonstrate that biblical waiting is not about sitting idle or expecting God to solve every earthly problem on our timetable. Instead, it is about fixing our perspective on God, allowing His truth to shape our hearts, and finding courage and strength in the hope He provides.
Listen as we discover what it truly means to wait on the LORD and find our Refuge & Strength in Him.
