Episode 4: Trusting In The LORD In Times Of Trouble - Psalm 4:1-8
In this episode of Refuge & Strength, previously known as Getting To Know God, “Trusting The LORD In Times Of Trouble,” we study Psalm 4 and examine what true biblical trust looks like when life becomes difficult, uncertain, and overwhelming.
What does it really mean to trust God?
Does trusting the LORD mean we simply sit back and do nothing? Or does faith require effort and action from us? Where is the balance between trusting God and trying to fix things ourselves?
Through David’s prayer in Psalm 4, this study explores how God’s people are called to respond in seasons of hardship — not with panic, fear, anger, or self-reliance, but with humility, prayer, worship, obedience, and confidence in God's character.
Psalm 4 teaches that trust in God is not passive. It is an active dependence on the righteousness, mercy, wisdom, and faithfulness of God — even when we cannot yet see the outcome. Rather than being consumed by fear or trying to control circumstances ourselves, believers are called to remember who God is, reflect on His past faithfulness, and continue serving Him with joy and confidence.
If you’ve been struggling with anxiety, uncertainty, fear, discouragement, or questions about how to trust God during difficult seasons, this episode offers powerful biblical encouragement rooted in the truth of scripture.
