Episode 24: The Company We Keep - Psalm 16:3-6

Who we surround ourselves with matters—but Psalm 16 shows us that our relationships can reveal something even deeper: whether we truly trust the LORD.

In Part 2 of our 3-part study of Psalm 16, we look at verses 3–6 and examine the characteristics of God-given faith. David delighted in the people of God while intentionally separating himself from those who pursued other gods and worldly ways. His choices weren’t about earning God’s favor—they were the result of already knowing, loving, and trusting God.

David understood that the LORD was his portion, his inheritance, and his provider. Because God’s purposes mattered more than his own ambitions, David valued the people and things God valued.

This episode challenges us to ask: Does the company we keep reflect the God we claim to trust? Are we allowing our relationships to encourage our faith, or are we allowing the world to shape our habits and priorities?

Faith doesn’t come from simply being around Christians—it comes through the Word of God. But the people we choose to walk alongside can either encourage our pursuit of God or pull us away from Him.
