Episode 30: Righteous Deliverance - Psalm 18:4-15

Jul 5, 2026    Brandon Alvillar

What happens when God’s people suffer, especially when the opposition seems overwhelming, and God’s deliverance doesn’t come when we want it?

In Part 2 of our 6-part study through Psalm 18, we dive into Psalm 18:4–15 and examine David’s terrifying experience of persecution, his desperate cry to the LORD, and the righteous power of God to deliver His people.

David was surrounded by danger. Death seemed close. His enemies were stronger than he was. Yet David knew something that changed everything:

God hears the cries of His people.

And when God judges, His justice is righteous, decisive, and perfectly timed.

This episode explores:

🔥 Why God’s people can expect opposition and persecution

🔥 The spiritual reality behind physical opposition

🔥 Why God’s position of glory doesn’t prevent Him from hearing our prayers

🔥 Why God’s apparent delay does NOT mean God has forgotten His people

🔥 Why we can trust God’s character even when deliverance doesn’t come in the way we expect

David was delivered from Saul, but Scripture shows that not every servant of God is delivered from persecution in this life. Some suffer and die for their faith.

But that does not mean God has failed.

God sees.

God hears.

God remembers.

God is righteous.

And God will judge.

The promises of God are eternal, and His justice is not limited by our timeline.

Whether God delivers us from the trial or carries us through it, we can trust that He is faithful to do what is right.

His timing is righteous. His judgment is certain. His deliverance is eternal.
