Episode 28: Opposition - Psalm 17:10-15
What do we do when following God puts us in opposition to the world?
In the final part of our 3-part study through Psalm 17, we examine verses 10–15 and the reality of opposition against God’s people.
David understood that opposition doesn’t always come from obvious enemies. Sometimes it comes through people close to us, subtle influences, worldly attitudes, pride, spiritual indifference, or circumstances that test our ability to walk by faith instead of by sight.
But David didn’t allow the success of the wicked or the pressure of his circumstances to determine his confidence. He remembered who God is.
God is still sovereign over the faithful AND the wicked. The prosperity of the wicked is temporary. The treasures of this world fade. But the promise of God endures forever.
David’s ultimate desire wasn’t worldly success, comfort, riches, or personal achievement.
He wanted God Himself.
“As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.” — Psalm 17:15
