Episode 3: Unsatisfied - Ecclesiastes 1:5-8
In this episode, we explore Ecclesiastes 1:5–8 and the powerful imagery Solomon uses to describe the restless cycle of life under the sun. Through the rising and setting of the sun, the shifting winds, and the endless flow of rivers into the sea, Scripture paints a vivid picture of constant motion without lasting satisfaction. Solomon’s point is clear: when life is lived purely for temporary, earthly fulfillment, it never truly satisfies the human soul.
We walk through each image—sun, wind, and water—to uncover how they reflect the deeper reality of human experience. No matter how much we see, achieve, or acquire, the desire for more never ends. The eye is never full, the ear is never satisfied, and work never truly reaches completion. This “restless labor” exposes the limits of material pursuits and the emptiness of living only for what is “under the sun.”
But the message doesn’t stop at diagnosis. We also turn to the solution found in Scripture: true sufficiency is not found in worldly gain, but in God Himself. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 3:5–6, we explore how real fulfillment comes through the Spirit as we live out God’s calling as ministers of the New Covenant, centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ. In that purpose, rest replaces restlessness, and meaning replaces the endless cycle of striving.
This episode invites viewers to reconsider where they’re seeking satisfaction—and to discover the only source of lasting peace, joy, and purpose that truly fulfills the soul.
