In the final episode of our 3-part study of Psalm 16, we dive into verses 7–11 and discover the ultimate reason David could place his confidence in the LORD: the promise and power of the Resurrection.

David understood that God’s purposes were bigger than his present circumstances. He trusted the LORD because God continually revealed His wisdom, provided counsel, and proved Himself faithful. But Psalm 16 points even further ahead—to the Messiah, the “Holy One” who would not be abandoned to corruption.

Centuries later, the Apostle Peter connected David’s words directly to the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
