Episode 39: The Name Of God - Part 1 - Psalm 20:1-3
Episode 39 – The Name of God Part 1 – Psalm 20:1-3
What does the NAME of God actually tell us about WHO God is?
Most of us know God by a few familiar names: God. LORD. Yahweh. Jehovah. Elohim.
But what if these names aren’t simply different labels for God?
What if they reveal His character, His promises, His power, and His identity?
In Psalm 20, David repeatedly points us to the “name of God”—and that phrase opens the door to some BIG truths about the One True Living God of the Bible.
🔥 YAHWEH is not just a name. It tells us WHO He is.
He is the eternally self-existing Creator.
He hears His people when they cry out.
He is faithful to His promises.
He is holy.
He is sovereign.
He defends and preserves His purposes.
And He will accomplish everything He has promised—regardless of how impossible the circumstances may look.
This episode takes a deep dive into Psalm 20:1–3 and explores what the “name of God” reveals about Yahweh, Israel, His covenant promises, Zion, the Messiah, and the future fulfillment of God’s Word.
And here’s the challenge:
Do you really know the God you’re calling on?
Because knowing about God isn’t the same thing as knowing who He has revealed Himself to be.
📖 “May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob defend you.” — Psalm 20:1
