Episode 3: Victory In The Face Of Defeat - Psalm 3:1-8
In this episode of Refuge & Strength, previously known as Getting To Know God, “Victory In The Face Of Defeat,” we study Psalm 3 and discover what true faith looks like when life completely falls apart.
Psalm 3 was written during one of the darkest moments in King David’s life — while fleeing from his own son, Absalom, who led a rebellion to steal David’s throne and take his life. Surrounded by betrayal, overwhelmed by opposition, and abandoned by many who once supported him, David found himself in circumstances that looked hopeless from every human perspective.
Yet in the middle of fear, pressure, heartbreak, and uncertainty, David trusted God anyway.
If you’ve ever struggled with fear, betrayal, anxiety, discouragement, or feeling overwhelmed by life’s circumstances, Psalm 3 provides powerful encouragement to trust in the LORD who sustains His people through every trial.
“But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head.” — Psalm 3:3
