A Letter of Gratefulness

Posted by Wayne Holcomb on

The letter below is from one of the many faithful families at Wellington. We are going to miss them, but trust the Lord's sovereignty in sending them out. Thank you Smith family for your faithfulness.
Dear Pastor Wayne,
You may have heard this news already, but I have accepted a job at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga so we will be moving at the end of May.  One of the toughest, if not the toughest part of leaving Lexington will be leaving our only church home...Wellington.  It has been such a tremendous blessing to be a part of Wellington and to have had the opportunity to be involved.
You have been a wonderful leader and it has been a true joy for me to have gotten to know you and learn from you.  Thanks so much for all you do!  Our hearts have been blessed by the leadership and friends we have made in our three short years in KY.  This is the only church we ever attended...we knew we had found our church home the first Sunday we visited!
We have grown in the Lord tremendously during our time at Wellington.  From the wonderful Sunday morning services to Saturday's with the men's and women's groups to our small group fellowships and serving with the foster parent's night out (FPNO) ministry...all have been fantastic blessings to us.
We know God sent us to Lexington for many reasons and Wellington has to be at the top of the list.  BTW...the Wednesday morning Bible studies were the best.  I'm a morning person so starting my day in the Word is important to me.  The Bible study was and continues to be a great way to start my Wednesday.  I know I didn't say much but each Wednesday was very valuable.
We will certainly miss Wellington a great deal.  Thanks so much for ALL you have done for us during our time here.
